Everhart, Elizabeth Kirby
Elizabeth Kirby Everhart, 96, of Pulaski, died Monday, March 3, 2008, in Pulaski Community Hospital.
She was born June 3, 1911, in Wythe County, and was the daughter of the late Mettie Swimm Kirby and James Edward Kirby. Mrs. Everhart and her husband, Ed, owned and operated Everhart Cleaners in Pulaski for thirty-five years. She was a charter member of the Memorial Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Andrew Everhart; a son, Gary Lee Everhart; three sisters; and three brothers. She is survived by one daughter, Jane Everhart Moses, of Roanoke; two stepsons, W. Bryce Everhart and Charles Edgar Everhart, both of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Dora Ward, of Bristol, and Virginia Hight, of Salem; two brothers, James Kirby and David Kirby, both of Wytheville; one grandson, David Hotz, of New Orleans, La.; four stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2008, at the Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. David Lones officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin.
Visiting will be anytime Wednesday, March 5, 2008, after 2 p.m. at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Flowers will be appreciated, as well as memorial contributions in her memory to Memorial Baptist Church, P.O. Box 31, Pulaski, Va. 24301.
