Everett, Mills Robert

Mills Robert Everett, age 92, of Blacksburg died Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Heritage Hall Health Care. He was born in Suffolk, Virginia on May 3, 1922 to the late Elisha Lee and Ruth Elizabeth Howell Everett. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Ruth E. Spivey and a brother, E. Lee Everett.

He is survived by his wife, Betty D. Everett of Blacksburg; daughter; Julia Alison Everett of Nags Head, NC; sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen D. Everett of Blacksburg, David Lee and Michelle K. Everett of Arlington, VA; Michael Joseph and Susan H. Everett of Christiansburg; grandchildren, Jessica Everett, Nicholas Mills Everett, Alexandra Everett White and husband, Dustin; great grandchildren, Hayden Everett, and Audrey White.

He was a long time member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, giving his service to the lord. He also served his country during WWII as a U.S. Army medical technician to the troops. He retired from Hercules Inc. at the R.A.A.P. after working for 34 years, in the Technical Department. Upon his retirement from Hercules he was a substitute teacher at Christiansburg Middle School, affectionally called “Mr. E.”, by his students.

Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church with the Rev. Bill King officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, 600 Prices Fork Road, Blacksburg, VA 24060, or a charity of your choice.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Friday January 2, 2015 at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
