Evans, Barbara Balarzs

Barbara June Balarzs Evans, 85 of Mechanicsville, VA, formerly of Narrows, joined the Lord in the comfort of her family at her home on Wednesday, March 2, 2016. Mrs. Evans was born on June 21, 1930 in Powhatan Point, OH and was a daughter of the late Dezo Sigmond Balazs and Barbara Bodnar.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Peyton Evans, three brothers, Steve, Bill and Ernest Balarzs and three sisters, Alice B. Doria, Gizella B. Fazekas and Edythe B. Weeks.

She is survived by two sons, Mark B. & Judith Z. Evans of Mechanicsville, Bruce R. Evans of Henrico, one granddaughter, Chance T. Evans of Mechanicsville, one brother, Frederick S. Balarzs.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Narrows First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Andrew Taylor-Troutman officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.

The family will receive friends at the Presbyterian Church from 11:30 – 1:00. A future memorial celebration is being planned in Richmond, Virginia. Online condolences can be sent to the family at givensfuneralhome.com.
