Etter, Everett G.
Everett G. “Dusty” Etter, 91, of Elliston went home to be with the Lord peacefully on Monday, August 22, 2022. Everett is preceded in death by his wife, Billie Cook Etter; parents, Reed and Dora Etter; and sister, Arlene Etter.
He is survived by his daughters, Becky Gardner, Kathy Pannell, and Terry Poff and her husband, Terry; 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Dusty retired from Poly-Scientific after 40 years of service. He was also a farmer his whole life and enjoyed gardening as well as sharing fresh vegetables with his friends and family. Dusty pastored several churches over the years and was a member of Bible Baptist Church. He enjoyed his tractor, cutting wood, watching Tony the goat and the donkeys. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
The family would like to express a thank you to Terry and Mr. T (the son he never had) who were his primary caregivers the past year.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Joy Ranch in Hillsville, VA or a charity of your choice.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 25, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 26, 2022 at 11:00 am in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Halls Church Cemetery.
