Eppling, Lois Stevers

Lois Elizabeth Stevers Eppling, 80, of Pembroke, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg. She was born August 26, 1929 and raised in Pembroke, a daughter of the late John Dexter and Mary Pricie Link Stevers.

She was preceded in death by her only sister, Kathleen Stevers Whittaker, her brothers, Jessie William Stevers, Beuland David Stevers and Charles Donald Stevers. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 42 years, Frank Spencer Eppling; her children, Merinda and Jeff Williams, of Pembroke, Tommy and Phyllis Epperly, of Dublin, Bonnie Anderson, of Bastian (the late Alfred), Connie and Jimmy Fisher, of Pembroke, Monte and Irma Eppling, of Pembroke, Charlotte and Mike Epperley, of Blacksburg, Ricky and Teri Eppling, of Pembroke; her nineteen grandchildren; her 24 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Henry Wiley Stevers, of Pembroke, Author Lloyd Stevers, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, John Jacob Stevers, of Florida and Gerald Link Stevers, of Pembroke; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Pembroke Assembly of God with her pastor, the Rev. Christopher Branch officiating. Burial will follow in the Fillinger Cemetery at Pembroke. The family will receive friends at Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Pembroke Assembly of God Window Project at P. O. Box 220 Pembroke, Va. 24136.
