Epperly, Mary Whitlock
Mary Pauline Francis Whitlock Epperly, 90, of Floyd, entered Heaven’s gate on Saturday, November 10, 2012. She was born on April 27, 1922, in Floyd, Va.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde J. Epperly; her son, Kenneth Wayne Epperly; her parents, Jesse and Ellie Thomas Whitlock; and a sister, Kathleen Whitlock Smith.
Pauline joined New Haven Baptist Church at a young age and served faithfully as church pianist and Sunday school teacher for many years. Due to failing health she has made her home with her daughter, Bonnie, in Naples, Fla., for the last few years. First Baptist Church of Naples graciously ministered to her needs through these last years.
She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Bonnie Epperly- Trudel and husband, Rudy, of Naples, Fla.; granddaughter, Wendy Epperly-Gilbert, of Radford; two great- grandchildren, Tess and Alexandria Gilbert; two sisters, Arlene Owen, of Charlottesville, and Ethelene Hettie Allen, of Roanoke; brother, J.J. Whitlock, of Lexington, N.C.; and an extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and brothers and sisters in Christ.
Graveside Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at Jacksonville Cemetery with Pastor John Chambers officiating.
