Epperly, Frances Ruth Meador

Frances Ruth Meador Epperly, 82, of Christiansburg, Va., known as “Granny” to her family and many friends, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2009, at New River Valley Medical Center. She had worked in the family restaurant and the repair shop after being a homemaker for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oat and Minnie Meador; brothers, Earnest and Carl; sisters, Bernice, Ruby, Audrey, Louise and Shirley; her husband, Paul Epperly; and her sons, David and Sammy Epperly.

She is survived by her daughter, Pat Robinson; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Epperly; grandchildren, Teresa Barnett and husband, Richard, Samuel Epperly and wife, Melissa, Roxann Hawley, and Dawn Martin; three greatgrandchildren; one greatgreat-grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Stanley and husband, Elton; brothers, Leon Meador and wife, Lucille, and Vernon Wayne Meador and wife, Ann; a sister-in-law, Laeta Meador; her brothers-in-law, Ray Epperly and wife, Mary, and Jerry Epperly and wife, Remona; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday evening, January 16, 2009, at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2009, in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Donna Sharp, with interment to follow in Sunset Cemetery.
