Epperly, Dollie Sumner

Dollie Sumner Epperly 84, of Christiansburg, Va., went to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on June 6, 2020, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Edward Epperly.

She is survived by her loving family; sons, Norman Epperly (Janet), Jerry Epperly (Angie); daughter, Sharon Flinchum (Wendell); grandchildren, Amy (Dwayne), Jason (Melissa), Adam (Sheila), Haley (Caleb), Renea and Alexis; great-grandchildren, Sadie, Macy, and Aidan. Also surviving is a special niece, Nancy Robertson, along with many other wonderful nieces and nephews.

Dollie was a faithful member of the Christian Fellowship Tabernacle since 1962. She loved her church family and served the congregation until her health no longer allowed her to do so.

Dollie loved her family at Commonwealth Senior Living Facility. She always wanted to encourage everyone when they came by to check on her. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the caring staff and nurses, who loved and cared for our Nanny. A special thank you to Deanna, Anna and April, who cared for Dollie in her final hours. The family would also like to extend their thanks to Kindred Hospice, especially Jennifer, for their care.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 from 1 to 2 p.m. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.hornefuneralservice.com.
