Epling, Joe Allen

Joe Allen Epling, 71, of Spruce Run, died Sunday, April 15, 2007 at Montgomery Regional Hospital.

He was born in Goodwins Ferry, Va. on April 3, 1936 to the late Ziby Marshall and Annie Williams Epling and was also preceded in death by a sister, Statia Epling Sisler.

He is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Avis Young of Frederick, Maryland; a brother and sister-in-law, William and Jewell Epling of Salem; seven nieces and nephews; and special friends, Marilyn and Lloyd Echols and family, of Newport.

Memorial services will be conducted Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor William Rosemann officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Newport Agriculture Fair Board, 418 Bluegrass Trail, Newport, Va. 24128 or the Newport Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 42, Newport, Va. 24128.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., Blacksburg.
