Endicott, Thelma King

Thelma King Endicott, 96, of Newbern, Va., died on Monday, November 1, 2010, in Pulaski Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on August 6, 1914, in Newbern, and was the daughter of the late Blanche Farmer King and James Thomas King. She was a graduate of Dublin High School; a graduate of the Bluefield Business College; was the secretary at Newbern Elementary School for a number of years; she was a lifetime member of the Newbern Christian Church (DOC); helped her husband operate Endicott’s Greenhouse until 1983; was a member of the New River Historical Society; volunteered with the Wilderness Road Regional Museum; was a member of the Newbern Community Center; was on the board of directors for the Newbern Cemetery; and was well know for expertise in pie, cake and bread making. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W.A. Endicott; sisters, Irene King, Della Charlton, and Elizabeth Wagoner; and brother, James King. She is survived by two daughters, Wilhelmina Ann (Billie) Perrine and her husband, Fred, of King George, Va., and Yvonne (Vonni) Endicott, of Dublin. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Christopher Scott Perrine and his wife, Margaret, of Singapore, and their son, Trevor; and Nicholas Andrew Perrine and his wife, Nicole, of Elkton, Va., and their children, Claire and Gavin. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2010, at Seagle Funeral Home with the Rev. John Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in Newbern Cemetery.
