Rev. Albert (Al) Thurman Elswick, 71 of Ripplemead, VA went to his holy maker on Monday, August 31, 2015 at his home. Rev. Elswick was born on September 6, 1943 in Bridgeport, CT., and was a son of the late Thurman Chester Elswick and Helen Irene Furcsak Elswick.

Rev. Elswick was a minister of the Gospels in several churches in New York and Virginia including the Pembroke Christian Church in Pembroke, VA.

A funeral service will be held, Friday, September 4, 2015 at the Pembroke Christian Church in Pembroke at 11:00am with the Rev. Reggie Britts officiating. A final service will be held Wednesday at __ at the Mountain Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport, CT.

Rev. Albert( Al) Thurman Elswick, 71 of Ripplemead, VA. went to his Holy Maker on August 31, 2015. He was born September 6, 1943 in Bridgeport, CT son of the late Thurman and Helen (Yurchak) Elswick. Rev. Al graduated from Bassick HS, Southern CT College and New Brunswick Seminary. He spent the next 37 years as Minister or Pastor at churches in New York, Massachusetts. and Virginia. He had a keen interest in history, geneaology and antiques and was a proud member of several historical societies in addition to the Lions Club. Albert enjoyed traveling to Hungary and attending family reunions in West Virginia. He is survived by his sister Claire Azzalina of Nashua NH, and nieces, Laura Azzalina of Los Angeles and Lisa Azzalina-McKeand and her husband Michael of Joliet, IL and their twin sons, Aiden & Liam. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday September 9, 2015 at Lesko-Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield. Burial will follow at Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport.
