Elliott, Howard J.

Howard J. Elliott, 78, of Christiansburg, died Tuesday, November 25, 2008. Howard was a sportsman who loved horses, camping and the great outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nellie Clark Elliott, and second wife, Dorothy Brumfield Elliott. He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Randall and Shirley Elliott, Mark and Missy Elliott, and Matt and Jennifer Elliott; four daughters and sons-in-law, Deanie and Jerry Viars, Jean and Bobby Coleman, Deborah and Conrad Fritz, and Lisa and Eddie Leonard; stepdaughter and husband, Tammy and Sherman Richardson; four sisters, Evelyn McKee, Garnet Holt, Ruby Rigdon, and Louise Roop; sixteen grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and six step-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2008 in the DeVilbiss Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Lee Sarver officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 28, 2008 at DeVilbiss Funeral home. Arrangements by DeVilbiss Funeral home, Radford, Va.
