Elkins, Betty Jo Whitehead

Betty Jo Elkins, 78, of Pulaski, died Monday, May 11, 2015. She was born in Huntsville, Ala., on July 28. 1936, and was the daughter of the late Simon and Edna Whitehead.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hubert O Elkins, Jr. (Jack); sister, Diane Lafferty; brother, Jacky Whitehead. She was a longtime member of First Christian Church, Pulaski, Va.

Survivors include her son, Rick Elkins and wife, Cristina Elkins; granddaughter, Rachel Elkins; and grandson, Benjamin Elkins; nephew, Jeff Wingfield and wife, Teresa Wingfield and their daughter, Nova Wingfield and many close friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2015, from the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John Dunstan officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery, Pulaski. Visiting will be Friday from the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the service hour.

The family wishes that memorials be made to First Christian Church, Pulaski. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski.
