Mae Maxine Suttle Elitchko, age 86, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020, at her home in Narrows, VA. Born December 27, 1933, in Peterstown, WV, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Margaret Elizabeth Ballard Suttle.

Maxine was a faithful Christian her entire life and was a member of the Pearisburg Church of Christ. She loved her family dearly; her grandchildren were her life. She enjoyed cooking for everyone and sharing recipes of some of her favorite foods with family and friends. She was a kind soul who saw the good in everyone. She was an extraordinary mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Washington Elitchko; four brothers, William, James, David, and Raymond Suttle; and six sisters, Inez Thompson, Patty Brotherton, Nedra Orr, Bonnie Mullins, Dorothy Ratcliff, and Darlene Clemons. Survivors include two daughters, Mitzi Elitchko of Narrows, VA, and Jill Johnson and husband Gene of Pearisburg, VA; one granddaughter, Adrian Heidi Johnson of Narrows, VA; one grandson, Austin Lukas Elitchko-Johnson of Pearisburg, VA; one brother, Bobby Suttle of Peterstown, WV; three sisters, Betty Cockerham of Fairfax, VA, Franceina Turner of Narrows, VA, and Eleanor Dunn and husband Joe of Peterstown, WV; and many nieces, nephews, and friends of the church.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV, with Preacher Kent Blevins officiating. Entombment will follow at the Birchlawn Abby Mausoleum in Pearisburg, VA. Visitation will be from 12:00PM until time of services on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Due to the regulations associated with COVID-19 and the WV Governor’s Mandate, those attending the visitation and funeral services shall wear a mask and practice social distancing.
