Eldridge, John Randall

John Randall Eldridge, 64, of Route 2, Box 83, Bluefield, died Friday, December 14, 2007 at his residence. Born July 8, 1943 in Radford, Va., he was a son of the late John Buford Eldridge and Thelma Loraine Durham Eldridge.

He was a member of Greenview United Methodist Church where he had formerly served as an Usher. Mr. Eldridge was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his niece, Tamara Lynn Harless.

Survivors include one sister, Carolyn Harless and her husband Ronnie of Bluefield; and aunts and uncles, Ray and Georgia Durham of Bluefield, Va., Ruby Carter of Bluefield, Va., Letha Englehart of Norfolk, Va., and James Durham of Belfry, Ky.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday December 18, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mercer Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Brent Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Monte Vista Park Cemetery in Green Valley.

The family will receive friends at Mercer Funeral Home on Monday evening, December 17th from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Bill Calfee, Bob Nunn, Tommy Harless, Ronnie Goodman, Kenneth Nunn, Jerry Nunn, Billy Brown and Leonard Chamberlain. Honorary pallbearer will be Dickie Cumbow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions, if desired, be made to Greenview United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 6130, Bluefield, WV 24701.
