Betty “GeeGee” StClair Edwards, 73, of Elliston, went from the arms of her loving husband into the arms of the Lord on Friday, August 26, 2022, from her home. She was born in Christiansburg, Va., daughter of the late John and Toy Early StClair. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Archie and Lula Gaye StClair; maternal grandparents, John and Zula Dove Early; and her brother-in-law, Kenneth Lawson.

All who knew Betty knew of her love to travel. She, alongside her husband, Robert, was able to visit all 50 states as well as numerous other countries. They both lived to see Gods beautiful world together. She was a member of Goodwin Memorial United Methodist Church, in Salem, where numerous friendships were made.

Betty will be mostly remembered for her love of family. She was a loving and dedicated wife to James “Robert”; a loving mother to Dennis and his wife, Melissa; and most definitely, a loving grandmother, or “GeeGee” as will be remembered, to Rio Delaney “Angelbaby,” and her husband, Armando Perez-Ramos.

Other family remaining to cherish her memory includes her sister, Patricia Lawson; her niece, Lindsay Wilson and husband, Paul; and her loving church family.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, from 6 until 8 p.m. in the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, in Salem.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Goodwin Memorial United Methodist Church, 5791 W River Rd, Salem, Va., with the Rev. Logan Hollenbeck officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, in Christiansburg.
