Charles (Bob) Robert Edens, Jr. 60, of the Little Creek Section of Pulaski County, died Saturday December 30, 2006 at his residence.

He was born July 4, 1946 in Roanoke, and was the son of the late Helen Scordas Edens and Charles Robert “Bob” Edens, Sr., who was known as the original founder of Edens Distributing Company, and was also a former Mayor of Pulaski.

Bob was a decorated Vietnam Veteran, having served in the U.S. Coast Guard, was President of Edens Distributing Company, a member of the Thornspring United Methodist Church, a member of the National Beer Wholesalers Association, a member of the Virginia Beer Wholesalers Association, a member of the Lithic Artist Guild, a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation, was a great supporter of the Hunters for the Hungry.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Heather Michelle Edens. He is survived by his lovely wife, Sonya Gullion Edens of Little Creek; one daughter, Baige Nicole Edens of Pulaski; one stepson, Joseph Daniel “J.D.” Martin, of the home; one sister; Sunni Leigh Edens Turtur of Houston, Texas; his father and mother-in-law, Dan and Margie Gullion of Pulaski; two nieces, Eden and Alexa Turtur of Houston; and a very special friend, Robert Rucker of Giles County.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday January 2, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons with the Rev. Darlene Marshall and the Rev. Maria Grimm officiating. Interment will follow in Thornspring Cemetery, where the V.F.W. Post 1184 will conduct military honors. Visiting will be anytime Monday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m.
