Jay Darnell Eaton, 91, of Pulaski, passed away Friday morning at home with family at 3409 Kingswood Drive, in Roanoke. He was born February 17, 1924 in White Gate, and was the son of the late Virginia Elizabeth Vickers and stepfather, Lawrence Samuel Vickers.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Edith Hurst Eaton. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the United States Navy. After the Navy, he was an employee of Martin Beamer Hardware, Rutherford Pontiac, and finally Hudson Chevrolet where he retired.

Surviving is his son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Tammy Eaton, Roanoke; sisters, Jean V. Hornbarger, and family, Bland, Betty V. Adams, and family, California; special niece, Debra Simpkins, and husband Trent, Bland; cousins, Billie Gene Farmer, Pulaski, James D Eaton, and wife Barbara, and family, Chester; grandchildren, Misty and Christina; several great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Howlett officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memorial Gardens, in Dublin. The Pulaski VFW Post #1184 will be conducting the military graveside rites.

The Family will receive friends Tuesday evening, February 9, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Stevens Funeral Home, in Pulaski.
