Earp, Alice Lee

Alice Lee Earp, 97, of Blacksburg, died Saturday, July 19, 2008 at Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was born in Bluefield, W. Va. on February 15, 1911 to the late William Booker and Minnie Withers Schenk. She was a member of the Blacksburg United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, U. F. “Doc” Earp, of Blacksburg; daughters and sons-in-law, Nanlee and Rusty Edwards, of Fairfax, Va., Betsy and Don Daidone, of Sevierville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Edwards, Peter Edwards, Christina Edwards, Eric Phipps and wife, Kelly, Stephanie Austin and husband, Jeff, Giovanni and Maria Daidon; eight great-grandchildren, Austin Condon, Cameron Edwards, Alison and Madison Robertson, Carter and Jackson Phipps, Kaitlyn and Brandon Austin.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Reggie Tuck officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, S.W., Blacksburg.
