Walter Franklin Earls, 91, of Dublin, Va., passed away on Friday, October 2, 2009, at Lewis-Gale Medical Center. He retired from the maintenance department of Roadway Express and served his country during World War II in the United States Army. He was born in West Virginia and was the son of the late Andrew and Beulah Wise Earls. He was also preceded in death by a son, Walter Franklin Earls Jr.; his brothers, Mack, Henry, Carl, Lewis and John Earls; and his sisters, Mary Kate Earls, Ruth Wells and Margurite Charles. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Gary Robinson, of Dublin; two sons and daughter-in-law, Michael Andrew and Pam Earls, and John Franklin Earls, all of Houston, Texas; a sister, Virginia Parsley, of Delbarton, W.Va.; and five grandchildren. Military graveside services will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2009, at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2009, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
