Harold Wilford Eagle, 80, of Norris Run, went to be with the Lord surrounded by his family on Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at Montgomery Regional Hospital.

He was born in Lookout, West Virginia on June 3, 1925 to the late Wilford Summers and Alpha Gertrude McCutchen Eagle. Harold worked in the coal mines and served in the Merchant Marines and fought in WW II in the U.S. Navy. Harold retired from RAAP in 1989 and was a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge #261, Newport, Va. Harold was a dedicated and loving father and husband.

He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 43 years, Louise S. Eagle of Norris Run; six daughters and sons-in-law, Carol E. and Jeff Wright of Norris Run, Robin Eagle and Jon Thompson of Moneta, Donna Washington of Mt. Nebo, W.Va., Linda and James Law of Piney View, W.Va., Trudi and John Dabbs of Fayetteville, N.C., Emenda Sue Bridges of Atlanta, Ga.; two sons, Gary Bland of Blacksburg, Jack Eagle of Mt. Nebo, W.Va.; a special grandson, Adam Eagle; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Polly Eagle of Huntington, W.Va.; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; special sisters-in-law, Mary Dowdy and Melva Hughes.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 21, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmie Lee Price and the Rev. Arwood Vaught officiating. Interment will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery, Norris Run. VFW Post 1184 will conduct graveside military honors.

Friends may call anytime Friday, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening with a Masonic Rites ceremony conducted at 6 p.m. by Masonic Lodge #261 of Newport at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
