Douglas Kelly Eads, age 66, of Draper died, Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Pulaski County, Va. on August 8, 1947 to the late Warren Kelly and Bessie Kemp Eads. He was preceded in death by a brother Danny Ray Eads.

He was a 1965 graduate of Pulaski High School, he graduated from the University of Wyoming and received his M.S. from Radford University. He retired after 22 1/2 years as a Major in the U.S. Air Force.

After retiring he came to Radford where he owned and operated Bakers Best Catering. For the last four years he was a Job Placement Counselor with the Department of Aging and Rehab Services. He is survived by his wife, Linda K. Eads, of Draper; daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Patrick Waltz, of Virginia Beach, Va.; sons and daughter-in-law, Jeremy Douglas and Elizabeth Eads, of Radford, and John Christopher Eads; sister, Deloris Raines, of Blacksburg; brothers, Donnie Eads, of Branson, Miss. and Warren Eads, Jr., of Winston Salem, NC ; six grandchildren, Justin Douglas Eads Stockton, Cathryn Makayla Bowling, Savannah Brooke Bowling, Parker Bryce Waltz, Tate Conner Eads, Ryan Kelly Eads.

Funeral services will be private. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Monday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive SW, Blacksburg, Va.
