Mr. John William Dye, 61, of Cemetery Street, East Bend, N.C., passed away on Friday, November 19, 2010, while in church. He was born on September 30, 1949, in Marion, Va., to the late Bill and Jean Hart Dye. Mr. Dye lived over 50 years in Pulaski Va., where he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and riding his Harley. Health problems over the last several years curtailed his outdoor activities and he lived quietly in East Bend, N.C. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Groth. Surviving are his devoted wife, Mary Ann Dye, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, James “Jay” and Karen Dye; son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Kari Dye; grandson, Jordan Dye; sister, Melody and Eddie Smith; brother, David and Janie Dye; many nieces, nephews and cousins, including a special niece, Pandy Neyome; mother-inlaw, Pat Quesenberry; sisterin-law, Missy and Luke Benning; and brother-in-law, Vince and Robin Albert. A Memorial Service will be held 4 p.m. on Monday, November 22, 2010, at East Bend United Methodist Church by the Rev. Cathy Turman. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either, East Bend Library Building Fund, East Bend, N.C. 27018 or to any Emergency Needs in Pulaski, Va.
