Duncan, Richard “Bud”

duncan_richard_winstonRichard Winston “Bud” Duncan, 87, of Blacksburg died Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at his home. He was born in Blacksburg, Va. on February 23, 1929 to the late Elmer Clinton and Mollie Lee Smith Duncan.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Edward C. Duncan, Thurman A. Duncan, Carl W. Duncan, and a sister, Lois Duncan Barker. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the United States Army. Bud retired form Virginia Tech after over 40 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Clara Ann Meredith Duncan; sisters, Clara D. Kinsley and Gladys D. Young; brother and sister-in-law, William Ford and Phyllis Duncan; and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be conductedat 11 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2016 in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe Carson and the Rev. Eddie Kendall officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr. S.W. Blacksburg, Va 24060. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Carilion New River Valley Hospice, 707 Randolph St. Suite 251 Radford, Va 24141
