Duncan, James Everette

James Everette (Jimmy) Duncan, 35, of Pulaski, Va., formerly of Bland, Va. passed away Sunday evening, November 2, 2008, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, Va. after a short illness.

Born September 7, 1973 in Princeton, W.Va., he was the son of the late Norman S. Duncan and Marie H. Duncan-Scott. He was a 1992 graduate of Bland High School. He was an employee of the Radford Army Ammunition Plant in Radford, Va. He was affiliated with the Baptist faith, and was a resident of Bland, Va. most of his life.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jay Eldridge. Survivors include one daughter, Emily Duncan, of Welch, W.Va.; his former wife, Michelle Gillman, of Welch, W.Va.; his birth mother, Marion Harman Eldridge, of Princeton, W.Va.; one sister, Deborah Sawyers of Princeton, W. Va.; two brothers, David Sawyers of Princeton, W. Va., Richard Sawyers of Minneapolis, Minn.; his companion, Donna Reynolds, of Radford, Va.; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday evening, November 5, 2008 at 7 p.m. at the Widener Funeral Home Chapel, Northfork, W.Va. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 5 p.m. until the hour of service. In honoring Mr. Duncan’s request, the body will be cremated. Arrangements by Widener Funeral Home, Northfork, W.Va.
