duncan harless bensonHarless Benson Duncan, 83, of Christiansburg, passed away on Monday, August 20, 2012, at Skyline Manor in Floyd. He was preceded in death by his father, James Clayton Duncan; and mother, Lola P. Duncan; his wife of 50 years, Christine Smith Duncan; brothers, Oden L. Duncan, Cereal C. Duncan, and Samuel E. Duncan. He is survived by his daughter, Rita Gale Duncan; grandsons, James Duncan, Steven Williams and Cody Biggs; great-granddaughter, Wanda Renee Biggs; brothers, Arvil C. Duncan and wife, Barbara, J. Ralph Duncan and B. Rudolph Duncan; a sister, F. Elizabeth Sowers; brothers-in-law, Rudolph Smith and wife, Sarah, Bob Smith and wife, Elizabeth, Steve Smith and wife, Dorothy; sister-in-law, Jean Akers; and many nieces and nephews. He was a longtime member of the Edgemont Christian Church. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War, 1951-1953. He was a truck driver for many years after service. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home, with a memorial service to follow at 7 p.m. in the Chapel. The Rev. Peter Anderson and the Rev.
