Duncan, Edith Caldwell

Edith Caldwell Duncan, 86, of Blacksburg, Va., died Saturday, September 19, 2009, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was born in Craig Creek, Va. on September 18, 1923, to the late Walter and Bell Songer Caldwell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Mason Duncan; and a great-granddaughter, Alejandra Ratcliff.

She is survived by her daughters, Maxine Cumbee and Diana Ratcliff, both of Blacksburg; five grandchildren, Cindy Davis, Richie Cumbee, Leon Ratcliff, Darrell Ratcliff, and Angela Kirby; six great-grandchildren, Courtney Cumbee, Kelley Davis, Hunter Kirby, Haedon Kirby, Holdon Kirby, and Michael Ratcliff; three sisters, Bessie Cook, Blacksburg, Dorothy Phipps and Bernice Martin, both of Christiansburg.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 22, 2009, at 1 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Leon Alley officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive S.W., Blacksburg, Va.
