Duncan, Dwight Royal

Dwight Royal Duncan, 57, of Christiansburg, died Saturday, February 14, 2009, at Montgomery Regional Hospital.

He was born in Montgomery County, Va., on August 25, 1951, and was preceded in death by his father, Harry W. Duncan; and a brother, Jimmy Duncan. He is survived by his wife, Dianna Duncan, of Christiansburg; mother, Helen Burton Nowlin, of Blacksburg; daughter and son-in-law, Christine Duncan and James Chapman, of Christiansburg; sons, Charlie Thornton, of Mentor, Ohio, and Billy Duncan, of Christiansburg; sisters and brothers-in-law, Doris and David Farley, of Christiansburg, Brenda and Gary Shepherd, of Riner, Va., and Becky Corso, of Dublin, Va.; grandchild, Charles Dwight Thornton.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 19, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Shepherd officiating. Interment will follow in the White Rock Cemetery, Floyd County. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
