duncan_carl_randallCarl Randall Duncan Sr., 66, of Radford, Va., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 22, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was retired from Canteen Vending after 40 years of service. He was a loving husband, father and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Elodia Duncan. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sharon Aker Duncan; two sons and special daughters-in-law, Carl R. “Randy” Duncan Jr. and wife, Spring, of Radford, and the Rev. Ronald W. Duncan and wife, Lori, of Christiansburg; four beautiful grandchildren, Hallie, Micah, Jayden and Joey Duncan; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Arleen and Carl Thompson, of Radford, Betty Ritter, of Christiansburg, and Della and Clarence “Boo” Carroll, of Radford; a brother and sisterin-law, Ira and Dale Duncan, of Christiansburg; his mother-in-law, Ruth Aker, of Radford; an uncle and aunt; three brothers-in-law; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Many thanks to Blue Ridge Cancer Center, Carilion Hospice and the nurses at Montgomery Regional Hospital. Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 26, 2010, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with the Rev. Ronnie Duncan, the Rev. Frankie Graham and the Rev. James Walker officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, August 25, 2010, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
