Calvin Curtis Duncan, 76, of Newbern, Va., passed away in the Pulaski Community Hospital Sunday, February 18, 2007.

Calvin was the proud owner of Crescent Machine Company in Pulaski for 40 years. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army. He was born in Welch, W.Va. on August 18, 1930.

Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Francis Duncan; his wife, Mildred Cook Duncan; and by two sons, Calvin (Curtis) Duncan, Jr. and Richard Thomas Duncan. Surviving him are a daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Alvin Nichols, of Fairfax, Va.; son and daughter-in-law, Charlie Christopher and Sonya Duncan, of Max Meadows, Va.; stepsons, Peter L. Haislip, of Max Meadows, and George Haislip, Jr., of Ohio; grandsons, Alvin, Joey, Andy, and Bobby Nichols, and Michael Duncan; granddaughter, Laken Duncan; and several greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 22, 2007, at 11 a.m. from the Stevens Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery with Pulaski VFW Post #1184 conducting the military graveside rites. Visitation will be Wednesday evening at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home in Pulaski, Va.
