dulaney maurice burnetteMaurice Burnette Dulaney, 82, of Floyd, went to be with the Lord Saturday, September 24, 2011. Maurice was born in Floyd Co. and lived in Florida until retirement and moved back to Floyd. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Olivia Dulaney, and brothers, Dennis, Ralph, Galen and Leon. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Boothe Dulaney, of 57 years. To cherish his memory are his sons and daughter, Jack and Patty , West Palm Beach, Fla., Rick and Joann, Pembroke Pines, Fla., Eugene, Floyd, and Janet and Juan Khoury, Miami Springs, Fla. Whose love for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew no bounds. He was the best teacher, without ever even trying, just by sharing his life and his love with us. Grandchildren, Gary, Kristina, Michael and Diana, Shawn, Lauren and Kelly; great-grandchildren, Natalie, Kenzie and Caleb; sisters, Opal Reed, Lois and Clyde Reed; brother, Melvin and Nadine Dulaney. Dad and Papa, thanks for always being there for us. You will be in our hearts forever!! Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren, with Pastor Roy Turpin officiating. Interment to follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery with Military Rites by Floyd V.F.W. Post #7854 & American Legion Post # 127. The family will receive friends at Maberry Funeral Home 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, September 26, 2011.
