Dudley, Ernest Wade

Ernest (Sonny) Wade Dudley, 83, of Radford, Va., passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2009. He was retired from the Electrical Department at Hercules after 40 years of service and a member of Rockford United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Dudley; his sister, Peggy Bowden; and brother, Eppie Dudley. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Terry C. and Patty Dudley ,of Springboro, Ohio; daughter and son-in-law, S. Diane and Rickey Gravley, of Dublin; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley Ann and Pug Akers, of Radford; four grandchildren, Terry Craig Jr., Dereck Todd, Tyler Gearheart and Melanie N. Yates; seven great grandchildren; very special friend, Ila Jean Staton; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, December 20, 2009, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Pastor Barry VanSteenburg officiating. Interment will follow in the Rockford UMC Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 20, 2009, from 2 until 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Fairlawn Lions Club.
