James Seabron Drewery began his earthly journey on May 5, 1951, in Tuskegee, Alabama, and traveled to his final destination on Sunday, May 28, 2023, in Los Angeles, CA. He was the youngest of 5 boys from the union of the late Ellis S. and Fern Elaine (Warren) Drewery.

In 1952 we arrived in Blacksburg, VA where James grew up and attended Margaret Beeks elementary school and graduated from Blacksburg High School. Growing up with very little, at an early age James wanted to make money. His first job was working at Neely’s college book store. James loved talking about making money and playing golf.

In 1971 James moved to Los Angeles, California where he met his soul mate Vivian Janov. Although he and Vivian never married, they had a special relationship for over 45 years. Together they traveled the world and Vivian encouraged him to become an entrepreneur. He started a car wash company and in 1997 he and his nephew Adam Drewery started JimiCap,Inc, which sold headgear to major colleges, universities, NFL teams, and major corporations worldwide.

James always enjoyed being the center of attention and entertaining people by telling jokes and stories about the many places he and Vivian traveled around the world. Cherishing his memory are many friends. James is survived by his 4 loving brothers, Ellis Warren, John Franklin, Beverly Bernard, and Carl Davis Drewery. 10 nephews and nieces, 25 grand nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at 11:00 am with the Rev. Neal Turner officiating. Interment will follow in the Southview Memorial Gardens.
