Draughn, Ruby M. Bruner

Ruby M. Bruner Draughn, 86, of Blacksburg, died Sunday, March 9, 2008 at her home. She was born in Lee County, Virginia on September 17, 1921, to the late France and Mattie Bruner. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Roscoe, Philmore, and Carl; and sisters, Golden, Vernie, Mary Jane, and Bonnie.

She is survived by her sons, C.L. (Buddy) and spouse, Phyllis, of Blacksburg, Jimmy and spouse, Denice, of Jacksonville, Florida, and Ricky, of Roanoke, Virginia; daughter, Mary Alice Thompson, of Coeburn, Virginia; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and also several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by special friend, Hazel Smith, of Christiansburg, and special caregivers, Carolyn Snead and Tammy Alley, of Christiansburg.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. David Jones officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 11, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive SW, Blacksburg.
