Dowdy, Howard Wayne

Howard Wayne Dowdy, 52, of Christiansburg, Va., died Monday, April 19, 2010, at Pulaski Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Montgomery County, Va. on December 29, 1957.

He is survived by his wife, Georgia Melinda Dowdy; his parents, James Howard and Gladiola B. Dowdy; two brothers, Craig Dowdy, Charles T. Dowdy and wife, Michelle; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roy Donald and Brenda Gerberich; several nephews and cousins. He was loved by all and will be dearly missed.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Shepherd officiating. Interment will follow in the Mussleman Family Cemetery, Shawsville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
