Dowdy, Elizabeth Ellen

Elizabeth Ellen Dowdy, 82, of Pembroke, departed this life Friday morning, July 30, 2010, at Riverview Nursing Home in Rich Creek. Born in Bland County on June 9, 1928, she was a daughter of the late John and Alice Mustard Gordon.

“Lib” had been employed at the library department of VPI.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Dowdy; a son Randy Link; grandchildren, Martha Elizabeth Neff and Neal Link; a sisterm Ruby Parcell; and brothers, Edwin and John Gordon. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Carolyn Link and Mary Ann Link Davis, both of Pembroke; her stepson and his wife, Michael and Brenda Dowdy, of Pembroke; her grandchildren, Bruce Davis, Jason Link, Crystal Davis, Tiffany Link Epperly; and a greatgranddaughter, Cheyenne Epperly.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembrokem with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
