Dowdy, Billy Anderson

Dowdy, Billy (Bill) Anderson, 69, of Blacksburg, died, Saturday, September 15, 2007, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. He went home to be with his Lord and savior Jesus Christ. He was born in Montgomery County, Virginia on April 3, 1938. He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Ribble Dowdy and stepson Cecil Broce.

He was a faithful member of the Norris Run Community Holiness Church.

He is survived by his wife, Lola Smith Broce Dowdy, of Blacksburg; mother, Minnie Martin Dowdy, of Blacksburg; two stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Dianne and Elbert Perfater, Hazel “Penny” and Douglas Price, all of Blacksburg; step daughter-in-law, Loula Broce, of Blacksburg; brother and sister-in-law, Mitchell and Ruth Dowdy, of Blacksburg; four step grandchildren, Stephen Perfater, Karen Jimenez, Kimberly Broce, and D. J. Price; three step great-grandchildren, Brandon Roop, Robert Perfater, and Kevin Perfater, nephew, Robert Dowdy; niece Fay and Maynard Quesenberry.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Douglas Price officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home 150, Country Club Drive SW, Blacksburg.
