Dove Jr., Jerry Marshall

Jerry Marshall Dove, Jr., loving husband, father and grandfather, 64, of Blacksburg, died Sunday, October 14, 2007 at his home.

He was born in Montgomery County, Va. on March 21, 1943, to the late Jerry Marshall, Sr. and Lillie Mae Simmons Dove. He was retired from MOOG, Inc. with 42 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley D. Dove; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Kevin Sadler; two sons and a daughter-in-law, David Dove, all of Blacksburg, Ricky and Teresa Dove of Mansfield, Mo.; a sister and brother-in-law, Stella and William Long of Newport; sister-in-law, Ruby Dove of Blacksburg; five grandchildren, Brandon Dove, Amy Dove, Jessica and Sarah Sadler, and Tyler Dove; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family would like to thank Carilion New River Valley Hospice and the Blue Ridge Cancer Center for all their care during Mr. Dove’s illness.

Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at 11 a.m. in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg with Tom Gilliam officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Carilion Hospice Services of NRV, 707 Randolph Street, Suite 251, Radford, Va. 24141. Friends may call anytime from 12 noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., Blacksburg.
