Dotson, Doffie

Doffie Dotson, 78, of Dublin, Va., passed away Saturday, October 16, 2010, in the Pulaski Community Hospital. Born in Pike County, Ky., he was the son of the late John Dotson and Cloise Collins Dotson Sloan. A brother, Fairly Sloan, also preceded him in death. He served in the Army during Korea and was a retired employee of Volvo Trucks. Surviving are his wife, Maxine Porter Dotson; daughter and her husband, Kathy and Jackie Thacker; grandsons, Remington Dotson Thacker and Daniel-Lee Stuart Thacker; granddaughter, Hailee Ann Thacker; great-grandson, Brayden Christopher Thacker; sisters, Genevia Thompson, Phyllis Meador and Edith and Paul Sammons; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at 11 a.m. from Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Allan Harmon, the Rev. Eddie Lambert and the Rev. Michael Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery, Wythe Co. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski.
