It is always sad to hear about the passing of a member of my Doss relatives. My Dad was Paul V. Doss of Dublin whose father was Sampson P. Doss (Joe’s cousin). I do remember going to the home of Joe Doss in Smyth County, and I remember Maynard when I was a kid since Grandma Josie Doss and my aunts Joyce Eddy (died last Aug. at 92) and Catherine Cregger lived in Max Meadows. My Dad died in 1982 and my Mom Lucile Smith Doss in 2014 (94). I also remember Fred, Hershel, Luther and Willard as my Dad and Mom talked about them fondly. I am deeply sorry for your loss.
Sincerely, Sue Carol Doss Goldstein

It was sad to hear about Mr. Doss passing. He was a good neighbor and friendly man. I always liked watching him drive his truck with his little dog. We will miss him and his stories. Prayers for his family.
