Doss, James Arlen

James Arlen (Jimmy) Doss, 69, of Blacksburg, was called to the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 24, 2008, at Montgomery Regional Hospital.

He was born in Blacksburg, Va., on March 26, 1938, to the late Clyde and Elizabeth Effinger Doss. He was preceded in death by a brother, Mike Doss.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Shirley Ratcliff Doss, of Blacksburg; son and daughter-in-law, James (Jimmy) A. Jr. and Tammy Doss, of Christiansburg; two daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Tony Bland, of Christiansburg, and Jamie and Henry Pittman, of Christiansburg; three grandsons, Tony Pittman, Ricky Hilton Jr. and wife Ashley, and Derek Doss; two granddaughters, Michelle Pittman and Casey Keith; great-granddaughter, Allison Hilton; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Linda Doss, of Blacksburg; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Kenneth Clark, of Christiansburg, and Ellen and Carl Dove, of Floyd; and special nephew, Larry Doss.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2008, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rador Vaden and Pastor Tony Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. Friends may call anytime after 12 noon Tuesday, February 26, 2008, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, S.W., Blacksburg, Va.
