Dobson, Sr., Robert Luther
Robert Luther Dobson, Sr., 86, of Christiansburg, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 7, 2020. He was a member of Schaeffer Memorial Baptist Church in Christiansburg. He was a U. S. Army veteran and was a retired Assistant Principal with Montgomery County Schools. Mr. Dobson was preceded in death by his parents, Ira, Sr. and Medister Johnson Dobson; grandson, Brandon Andrews; 3 sisters and 5 brothers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Charleen Loretta Dobson; children and their spouses, Robert L. Dobson, Jr. of Vinton, Ardelia D. and (Nelson Reeves) of Roanoke, Demetry M. Dobson of Christiansburg, Isaac W. and Ranglette Dobson of Radford, and C. Katrice and Berkeley Davis of Richmond; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Lee E. Suggs, Sr. officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin.

I enjoyed working with Mr. Dobson for many years at CMS. I taught several of his children–all great kids! He was such a gentleman, a professional educator and a fun guy to be around. He will be missed by many.
