Dobbins, Gary Lynn

Gary Lynn Dobbins, 56, of Floyd, Va. and Charlotte, N.C., passed away Thursday, October 8, 2009. Gary was an avid sportsman; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors and riding his Harley. He loved experiencing the joy of reaching out and helping Haitians on his mission trips to Haiti.

He was preceded in death by his son, Greg Dobbins; father, Ed Dobbins; mother, Mary Dobbins Beckner; paternal grandparents, Joe and Freeda Dobbins.

He is survived by wife, Tami Dobbins; daughter, Lisa Dobbins Mountjoy; grandson, Jeremie Ingram; granddaughter, Mazzy Price; special sons, Arthur Porter, Jacob Porter; sister and brother-in-law, Terry Dobbins and J. Wayne Vaughan; niece, Meagan Vaughan; and beloved pet, Buddy.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 11, 2009, at Gardner Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Hill officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday at Gardner Funeral Home from 1 until 2 p.m.
