Dobbins, Edgar Jackson

Edgar Jackson Dobbins, 73, of Christiansburg, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2016. He was born on October 20, 1942, to the late Henry Jackson and Mae Vaughn Dobbins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Stephen Dobbins; and his wife, Judith Bratton Dobbins.

He is survived by his daughter, Christie Dobbins Matte and her husband Tom of Atlanta, Georgia; son, Todd Jackson Dobbins and his wife Lisa of Christiansburg, Virginia; and grandsons, Austin Jackson Matte, Carson Thomas Matte, Easton Jackson Dobbins, and Archer Rodes Dobbins.

He was a graduate of Auburn High School and attended National Business College. He worked for Meadow Gold Dairy and started Job Finders in Radford, VA. He enjoyed hunting, Nascar, and drinking coffee with his friends. Jack was the self-appointed Mayor of Bethel.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at 11 a.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Charles DeHart officiating. Interment will follow in the Vaughn Family Cemetery.
