Dixon Sr., Warren Courtney

Warren Courtney Dixon Sr., 84, passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2012, at his home, Shannondale, Poplar Hill Community, Pearisburg. A native of Mecklenburg County, N.C., he was the son of the late Jennings Bryant Dixon and Lillie Mae Faires Dixon. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 55 years, Annie Sparrow Dixon. He was a graduate of Berryhill High School, and served his country in the military during World War II. He was co-owner of Manufacturers’ Supply Company in Rock Hill, S.C. He is survived by his wife, Jean Stafford Dixon; daughters, Debra Mullis and husband, Jim, Donna Flowe and husband, Lonnie, Marie Gaddy and husband, Eddie; son, Warren Courtney Dixon, Jr.; grandchildren, Shelby Barbee and husband, Jeremy, Hayley Gaddy, Caroline Gaddy, Courtney Flowe, Morgan Barham and husband, Mason; great-granddaughter, Allison Barbee; stepsons, Mike, Brian and Randy Stafford; stepdaughters, Kathy Willis and Melinda Martin. Graveside funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2012, at the New Dublin Presbyterian Cemetery, Dublin, with the Rev. Andrew Taylor-Troutman and the Rev. Winfred Keene officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. There will be a visitation for family and friends in the fellowship hall of the New Dublin Presbyterian Church following the service.
