amem_victorian.jpgLouise Laura Dillon, 90, of Stuarts Draft, Va., died Sunday evening, March 30, 2008, at Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville, Va.

Born on October 22, 1917, she was the last surviving child of the late Henry Lee and Ida Elizabeth Farmer Dillon. Preceding her in death were brothers and sisters, Raymond Dillon, Robert Dillon, Ernest Dillon, Naomi D. Gordon and Maime D. Echols; as well as nephews, Mitchell and Gale Echols, and Frankie Lee Gordon; niece, Mary G. Coombs; and great-nephew, Gregory Skurupey.

Miss Dillon was employed by the Commonwealth of Virginia for 45 years as secretary for the Commonwealth Treasurer and administrative assistant for the Department of Industrial Development. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, Richmond, where she worshipped and served as communion steward, member of the Arlene Rundasell Circle, and assisted in the Centenary Walk-InMinistry. A resident of Richmond for 65 years, she moved in 2005 to Augusta County to be near her nephew and his wife, Bill and Jean Dillon, of Waynesboro.

Additional survivors include sister-in-law, Mary T. Dillon, Pearisburg; nieces, Billie Gene Dillon Farmer, Pulaski, Elizabeth G. and Berlin Tuttle, Columbus, Miss., Arlene E. and Fred Skurupey, Blacksburg, and Mary Cathryn D. and Larry Lyons, Roanoke; nephews, Shirley B. and Ruth Echols, Blacksburg, Robert R. and Laverne Dillon, Roanoke and Larry C. and Judy Dillon, Lancaster, Pa.; and several great-nieces and nephews and several cousins also survive.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at Givens Funeral Home, Pearisburg, Va. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. in Birchlawn Burial Park, Pearisburg with Dr. Fred L. Austin officiating. On Friday, April 4, 2008, a memorial service will be held in the Chapel of Centenary United Methodist Church, Richmond at 2:30 p.m. with Dr. Jim Boice. Family will receive friends following the service.
