Helen Weddle Dillon, 81, of Blacksburg, passed away on April 22, 2007 at Montgomery Regional Hospital.

She was born in Luster’s Gate on May 31, 1925, one of nine children born to the late Jane Morehead Weddle Keister and Simon Christopher Weddle and was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph “Gene” Dillon. She was an avid fan of all Hokies sports.

She is survived by a brother, Paul A. Weddle of Dunwoody, Ga.; and a sister, Ruth Weddle Thigpen of Wilmington, Del.; her daughters and sons-in-law, Kay Dillon of Blacksburg, Ann Dillon-Crawford and Danny Crawford, Patsy Dillon-Long and Bob Long; her grandchildren whom she adored, Christine B. Dillon, William R. Long III, Courtney Long, Amanda Crawford and fianc� Danny Collins, Jamie Rizak and husband Paul; great-grandchildren, Abby and Kenneth Rizak of Oak Harbor, Washington; special nephew, Wayne Weddle and wife Leslie; niece, Sylvia Gray and husband Jack; and many other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 26, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the Blacksburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Reggie Tuck officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., Blacksburg.
