Dickey Sr. David E.
David E. Dickey Sr. 84, of Blacksburg, Va., went with peace February 17, 2011. He was born March 25, 1926, in Princeton, N.J., and was a veteran of the United States Navy, and graduate of Lehigh University. With his loving wife of 63 years, Mary H. Dickey, he retired after 39 years as a Senior Engineering Fellow with the Westinghouse Electric Corporation to River Bend, N.C. In retirement, he served as the first Chairman of the Town Public Works Advisory Board. He was the District SCORE Volunteer of the Year in 1991 and received a SCORE Platinum Leadership Award. David and Mary began their second retirement in Warm Hearth Village in 2008. He was loved by his son David (Beverly) E. Dickey Jr., of Bedford, N.H.; and three daughters, Janet (Stephen) Richards, of Roanoke, Va., Beth (Dennis) Jolley, of Franklin, Tenn., Susan (Jeff) Beam, of Zanesville, Ohio; eight grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren. Interment will be at the First Presbyterian Church in New Bern at the convenience of the family. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, should be provided to the Blacksburg Volunteer Rescue Squad, 200 Progress Street, NE, Blacksburg, Va. 24060; or the Humane Society of Montgomery County, P. O.
