dickerson_yvonne_meadows.jpgYvonne Meadows Dickerson, 69, of Pearisburg, Va., left for her heavenly home on Monday, September 28, 2009, at Augusta Nursing Home in Fishersville, Va. Mrs. Dickerson was born on November 19, 1939, and was a daughter of the late Floyd Philip (Bruzz) Meadows and Katherine Irene Ramsey Meadows. Mrs. Dickerson was employed by the Celanese Corporation in Narrows for 25 years and is the former wife of Bobby Dickerson, of Christiansburg, Va. Yvonne will forever be remembered by her devoted brothers, Aaron Ramsey, of Washington, D.C., Floyd “Buddy” Meadows Jr., and Alex Meadows, both of Pearisburg, Va.; adored children, Jacqueline Dickerson-Hunter and husband, John, of Tampa, Fla., Philip Dickerson and wife, Ginele, of Baltimore, Md., and Barbara Jean DickersonSlaughter and husband, Reginald, of Staunton, Va.; treasured grandchildren, Erika Yvonne Hunter, of Tampa, Fla., Adam Philip Dickerson, of Columbia, Md., Jessica Irene Hunter, of Tampa, Fla., Mark Allen Dickerson, of Baltimore, Md., and Benjamin Thornton Slaughter and Sarah Lacy Slaughter, both of Staunton, Va.; beloved lifelong friend, Alma Mae Hutchinson, of Pearisburg, Va.; Roger Wagner, of Dublin, Va., whom she cherished like a son; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Yvonne loved the Lord and cherished her family, her children and grandchildren, who were the love of her life and she shared in their every accomplishment no matter how small. She had a love of travel, especially to visit her children and grandchildren. She loved life and spread her enthusiasm to all that she met. She never met a stranger and always gave of herself. She had a heart of gold. A Celebration of her Life will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2009, at the First Baptist Church, Virginia Heights in Pearisburg with the Rev. Gary Alexander officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
