Dickerson, Thurman

Thurman Dickerson, 80 of Hillsville, formerly of Christiansburg and Radford, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2007. He loved bluegrass music and in his retirement years he enjoyed nothing better than attending festivals and joining in jam sessions with his guitar.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Blane, Sr. and Bertha Quesenberry Dickerson, and two brothers, Roby and Oscar Dickerson.

Survivors include his wife, Cecile O. Williams of Hillsville; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Gillian Dickerson of Christiansburg; two grandchildren, Cameron and Adrienne Dickerson; three brothers, Robert J. Dickerson and Junior Ray Dickerson, both of Radford, and James B. Dickerson of Richmond; and two sisters, Mae Turner and Frankie Bain, both of Radford.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Tom Alderman Cemetery in Hillsville with Rev. Clarence Marshall officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
